Portrait paintings using photo

Portrait paintings like this i painted by looking at a digital photo. I have done many portrait paintings this way. It is not easy to get a person to sit for hours while i try to finish my painting. So therefore it works fine using a digital photo instead.

I have painted portrait paintings for almost twenty years now. The first years as a portrait painter i used models to sit for me. Often i used friends or people i worked with to sit while a painted or made a drawing.It was a very good practise for me doing that.

Making portrait paintings is maybe the most difficult kind of painting. At the same time it is a very interesting and fulfilling way of making art.
