Old bridge
I found an old black and white photo of this old bridge in a book with photos from Norway.
To be honest i can`t remember where in Norway this old bridge is from but i would guess it
is in the west part of the south part of the country. I have changed some of the nature in this
painting but the old bridge, the water and the mountain is very exact painted.
I struggled for a while painting the water under this old bridge. I am not sure why but it looked
like the water was running in the opposite direction under the bridge. I think it looks ok now.
Landscape oil paintings
From i was around twenty years old, i have been painting landscape paintings using oil colour.
Actually my first painting was a landscape. I can still remember that painting. In front of the
image there was a pier and a boat. I am not so sure about the boat but i think it was a small
boat too. Besides that, it was ofcourse water and sky.
From time to time i have painted landscape paintings. But portraits or people in nature image
has been my favourite to paint. Painting landscapes is in a way easier than portraits. If you
paint a tree and make a mistake painting the branches it will be almost impossible to see the
mistake. But if you make a mistake painting a face, everyone will point at it and make a
comment.
Landscape paintings in oil will always be popular among art byers, at least among ordinary
people. So as long as i find it interesting trying to make a masterpiece painting a landscape
i will go on painting landscapes.
