Original oil paintings

I have painted oil paintings for almost twenty years. Oil paintings has
always been the ultimate art to me. I can still remember how fascinated
i was the first time i saw oil paintings in the national gallery in Norway.
At the time i was just a kid, and could not understand how it was possible
to paint oil paintings which i then was admiring.
I can still remember how fascinated i was looking at some details in a
painting. I could have been around ten year at that time and it should
take many years before i even thought about trying to paint an oil painting.

Sometimes i wonder about how many oil paintings i have painted since i started. I would guess around a couple of hundred. In addition i have also made a lot of drawings in charcoal and some prints which you can find on
this website.

Oil paintings is and will maybe always be the most requested kind of art,
whether the oil paintings is modern or classical in style.

Personally i hope that oil paintings in classical technique will be more popular in the future than now. As it is today it is hard for people with no art education to know what is good and what is not. And that will affect the art market whether we like it or not.
